Fabrice Martin wins the Guzzini Challenger

French player Fabrice Martin went on to win the Guzzini Challenger, the ATP tournament held at the Recanati Tennis Club on two Supersoft courts from 25 - 31 July. Taking his first victory at an ATP Challenger tournament, Martin beat fellow countryman Kenny De Schepper in the finals 6-1, 7-6, 6-7, after a hard but well matched game with numerous aces and very few balls coming up to the net. Frederik Nielsen from Denmark and English partner Ken Skupski won the doubles 6-4, 7-5 against Gaio and Raja. Martin’s win came at the end of the 24th edition of the tournament which saw some of the best and fastest professional players on the courts; players like former World Rank 5 Rainer Shuettler, and Arnaud Clement who won titles at Wimbledon and also reached the Australian Open finals. www.ctguzzini.it
